A study of the possible relationship of serum dopamine-beta-hydroxylase activity with diabetic neuropathy.

چکیده
Serum DBH activity in a normal population of 58 individuais shows a gaussian distribution, on the opposite to what happens in a popuiation of 100 diabetics. These two populations also differ statistically by the analysis of variance. However it was round that it is not possible to correiate ...rum DBH neither with insulin admi nistration, type of diabetes, duration of disease, nor with the severity of the invol vement of the peripheral nerves. It is hypothesized that the variation of DBH in dia betics may have a multifactorial cause, resulting from several metaboiic and circula. tory alterations that accompany the disease.

The relationship between serum vitamin D and vitamin B12 levels and diabetic peripheral neuropathy
Abstract Objective: Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is one of the most common complications of diabetes. Beside the known factors such as hyperglycemia in the pathogenesis of this complication, other etiologies may play role in the pathogenesis of this complication. The aim of this study was the evaluation of the role of serum vitamin D and vitamin B12 levels in this process. Material a...
متن کاملThe possible analgesic effect of Beta vulgaris in streptozotocin-diabetic rats using formalin test
Diabetic rats in long-term display an augmented nociceptive response to chemical, mechanical, and thermal stimuli. Furthermore, hyperalgesia is one of the major symptoms of diabetic neuropathy in some patients. Considering the antidiabetic potential of chard, this study was carried out to evaluate the possible analgesic effect of chard-mixed food intake in male streptozotocin-induced diabetic r...
